Me
Present
Currently, I am working with University of British Columbia, Friedrich Wood Theater to create next generation multiple projection systems with added element of interactivity as the 2nd half of the project. And I am also working on two startups Dsign Interactive as Technical Director along with two Seniors Yangos & Vincent in Vancouver and Vedansh Infotech in Gujarat, India.
I believe, art and engineering needs to be in harmony with “design that humanizes”. For example I can interact with nature for hours, days & months and the result is that I am not harmed, instead my mental as well as physical stability improves. I explore the questions like how can we bring “nature factor” into current technology? I believe technology can come to the point that it first understands us with respect to humans “needs” than “wants.”
Biography
Being born in small town in the state of Gujarat, India, didn’t hold me back from learning today’s cutting edge technology. In fact, I felt more comfortable with the space that included technology.
I’ve always loved solving math problems and finding the optimal solution. To fulfill my interest in the field of technology, I went to Bangalore for my high school studies in 2002 and took computer science as an elective for two years.
I’ve been fond of electronic gadgets since my childhood so I took a Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics and Communication in 2004. During the course of time I realised wonderful possibilities through the right blend of the electronics and computer science.
I believe that technology should not effect people’s daily lives, that includes health. That technology should evolve with humans rather than drawing human attention completely into it.
My idea is that through correct implementation of AI into digital technology, machines can be made more human friendly in nature. I define my vision in two words “Humanizing Technology.”
Recently I finished Masters in Digital Media from Great Northern Way Campus, Vancouver, Canada.
Inspiration
“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it᾿ said Paulo Coelho. There are many such other inspirational quotes which leads me into thinking positively. I must say that it’s food for my soul.
I am also quite inspired by some people outside the field of technology. My father is one of the living examples who inspires me to think high and live strong as engineer, designer and a spirit.
Hobbies
Digital Hobbies
I believe in blend, giving away, connecting dots. Connecting technology to spirit is one of the goals of my life. Unless spirit isnt at rest no technology can help. AI in technology needs to come to a level of understanding at spiritual level where humans can use technology as means efficiently and not as a final objective. Nowadays I spend most of my time exploring, designing and implementing new touchless interfaces which can help humans become more like humans and less like machines.
Natural Hobbies
I love playing sports, especially soccer and table tennis. Sketching is another hobby of mine. This activities provides peace of mind from day-to-day hustle. I have started writing books from past two years. I have finished writing first book on connecting humans and technology. Currently writing part 2 of it. I don’t have any plans to publish them until they bring some practical results.
These activities are balancing act between digital and natural life. Through meditation and pranayam(deep breathing exercise) helps keep up my mental strength gets kicked up a notch!
Final Equation goes like this,
Digital activities + Natural activities = Makes my day
My Life
Feeling the joy and love of my parents and other people truly inspiring personalities make my life complete. They have all taught me the greatest virtues in life, and one of them is giving. One day I want to leave a mark behind by contributing in the best way I can to this world not for the sake of my name or money but for the sake of others and my love for work. “Love for the sake of love, work for the sake of work” – Swami Vivekananada of Ramkrishna Mission
I feel at the end of the day it is your natural intelligence which can define new heights. It defines “artificial” intelligence after all.
“Technology has no meaning to me unless it communicates human values.”
